Hi, it’s great to hear from you. Thanks so much for your comment! I’m glad you like my videos and that they’ve been helpful for you :o ) :o )

Hi, I’ve tried that too and I’ve also used yogurt as a substitute and I agree it’s great too! I stick with the olive oil though because it is so incredibly healthy for you. It’s such a great way to get more monounsaturated fats into your diet and it’s so full of antioxidants. There’s a long list of health benefits, so I try to use it as often as I can in recipes that call for oil.

I really enjoy watching this video, along with your others. I love brownies but they are not the best desert or snack food healthwise. I am a clutz in the kitchen but I can manage this one. Your tutorial is very clear and easy to follow. Thanks!!

wow that looks pretty tasty!!! i LOVE brownies!
i would try that, but my mom is really against using any kind of mixes.

i just wanted to give you a small tip.
when you talk, try to keep your voice at the same level.
i noticed that you tend to go to your regular talking voice, then you go into a high, child like voice, and it gets a bit distracting.

OH my god!!!!
This is awesome~

I can’t wait to try this!

Hi there, I have a quick question about your recipe: why do you substitute the eggs? There’s a big poster up in my gym explaining how healthy and good for you eggs are and that their colesterol does not add to the bad colesterol your GP warns you about.

YouTips4U @ 8:01 pm #

Hi, I do love eggs and I usually like to enjoy them in my diet by eating them. When I use them to bake in a recipe that’s lower in fat and calories I usually use egg substitute because they have no fat or cholesterol. Also, some people on special diets that have high cholesterol may want to limit egg intake. One of my main reasons though is that with egg substitute you can eat the batter because they are pasterized!

Could you use just eggwhites? If so about the same amout you think?

fitnisfrk @ 10:05 pm #

One more question: Since you advocate olive oil, I was curious if there is a certain brand or type I should look for. I bought a light olive oil once and noticed it had more sat. fat then canola. Maybe it was the wrong kind of oil? Not crazy about the strong bitterness. SO what can i buy that’s healhy but not too strong? Thanks!

I have not tried it. If you try it please let me know how it comes out. I know with baked goods sometimes you are better off using egg beaters instead of just egg whites as using egg whites only may change the consistency. Many people will make adjustments to mitigate that by adding a teaspoon full of oil for every yolk they omit.

YouTips4U @ 1:13 pm #

Hi, when you buy olive oil you want to buy Extra Virgin Cold Pressed. This ensures that it is minimally processed. It is the oil that comes from the first “pressing” of the olive and is extracted without using heat or chemicals. This really matters for taste, vitamins and antioxidants. Also, be sure to buy olive oil in a dark bottle. This ensures protection from light which causes loss of antioxidants and faster rancidity. Hope that helps :o )

fitnisfrk @ 10:25 pm #

Okay, I made these brownies today. I used 3 egg whites instead of beaters and wheat germ instead of oat bran (lazy didn’t wanna go to the store). Is was freakin delicious! Texture is not like cake, more like moist rubber, but I prefered the that texture over a real browny because it felt much heavier and satisfying.

Your brownies looked really yummy! Do you have any healthy barbecue tips? My husband grills quite a bit during the summer time. How can we make that healthier?

Hi, I love grilling too, but I recommend doing it in moderation due to the increased risk of cancer when you cook foods at high temps. To help minimize this risk, be sure to cook your food very slowly to reduce the formation of a chemical called heterocyclic amines (HAs). HAs are carcinogenic and are linked to cancer. Also, be sure to use marinades as they significantly cut down the formation of these chemicals. Avoid charring your food.

Hi, I think this is a great video. Do you know about how many calories are in this brownie recipe?

YouTips4U @ 9:08 pm #

Sorry, I don’t know. I really don’t count calories, I usually pay more attention to my portion sizes and fat, fiber and protein. I wish I could help.

I’m glad you liked the video. Let me know how you like them if you try the recipe.

hmm a little confussed eggs aren’t unhealthy either is olive oil why use none or less? thats tons and tons of perservatives how I know is I look into alote of stuff to do with health.. /its better than the normal recipie .

YouTips4U @ 9:35 pm #

Hi, eggs are very healthy for you and olive oil is an amazing antioxidant and excellent for your diet. It’s much better than corn oil or canola oil which is usually used for brownies. People used to think that eggs are bad for you because of their high cholesterol content, but current research shows this not to be true.Eating eggs won’t give you high cholesterol.Eggs are full of high-quality proteins, vitamins and minerals.
