Shortening is like butter, or lard
So im guessing something like melted butter?

Can you also bake it in a 13 by 9 inch pan?

September 6, 2009

SpazzinWithCow @ 10:39 pm #

you can bake it in a 13 by 9 inch pan, but just use only 2/3 of the ingredients and reduce the baking time slightly too……Around 20-25 mins ( depending on your oven)

i question 1 thing why only 1 tsp of vinnala isent 1 tsp meant for a small bacth?

March 24, 2010

Insightfulnana @ 10:24 am #

1 tsp of vanilla has always worked.. even for this large batch. However, if you feel like you want to add a little more… by all means do so.

whattodo94 @ 7:42 am #

can you use oil or butter instead of crisco

March 30, 2010

Insightfulnana @ 10:24 am #

I don’t suggest you use anything else except shortening (Crisco). I tried using oil one time and it didn’t work. I have not tried butter.

May 10, 2010

minovia2 @ 6:04 am #

what is Crisco

Try using at least butter rather than shortening for Christ’s sake. It’s hydrogenated fat. In other words poison…
