The Young Press was designed by the Bodum Design Group to develop a modern yet functional coffee press that delivers top quality coffee and can be used in a variety of environments. The durable frame is made of santoprene - a hard rubber like material. The windows are made of clear polycarbonate. Together, these two layers form a protective skin around the glass beaker that helps prevent breakage, making the Young Press an ideal press for home, office, boat, and even camping. The glass beaker can easily be removed for cleaning and placement in the dishwasher. For those who prefer to hand-wash their Young Press, they don't need to worry as much about knocking the glass beaker against a metal sink. The Young Press' frame also assists in keeping the coffee hot longer while insuring that the body of the press remains cool to the touch and is safe to set on most surfaces. Should the glass beaker break, it is easily replaced with the the standard Bodum 8-Cup Replacement Glass. The Young Press brews 8 - 4oz. cups of coffee or 1.0 litter / 34 oz. This size is ideal for serving 2 - 3 people. For best results, use coarse ground coffee. Just add the appropriate amount of ground coffee to the beaker (we recommend one 7 gram scoop per 4 oz. of water). Fill the beaker with hot water (just off of a boil). Leave about an inch from the top of the beaker. Give the coffee a stir with a plastic or wooden utensil to mix it completely with the water. Set the plunger and lid unit in place with the safety lid in the closed position. Allow the coffee to brew for 4-minutes and then press. Turn the safety lid to the open position, serve and enjoy. There is no paper or additional filter required. The 3-part stainless steel filter system is built right into the press. Dishwasher safe.

Easy to use, one simply adds tea leaves to the bottom of the tumbler, pours in hot water, waits for 3-4 minutes and presses the plunger to stop the brewing process. The tea is ready to go! It can be used to brew French Press coffee too. The double-wall design allows your tea or coffee to stay warm for a long time. The specially designed drinking lid is easily flipped off and tightly closed again. It is handy, fits safely into most car cup holders and is light in weight because of the plastic construction.
